We encourage programs to think about the Keystone STARS Performance Standards as a tool to support continuous quality improvement (CQI) that impacts services to the children and families in your care. Early Intervention supports and services are designed to meet the developmental needs of children with a disability as well as the needs of the family related to enhancing the child’s development. Keeping children safe and healthy is important in a child care setting. Certification regulations focus on health and safety concerns when caring for children because they understand that children learn best in a secure and healthy environment. When good health practices are modeled for children, they can take these practices with them into other activities and their everyday life.
